About

Steven Levy

Steven Levy has been part of the high-tech industry for over 25 years. (You can see a visual overview here.) He helps companies get timely value and savings from their technology, their projects, and the management of both.

He recently left his Sr. Director post at Microsoft. He headed the legal technology business team and two industry task forces, where he was a highly requested speaker, regular author, and trade-publication “cover boy”; he led three Microsoft products, including TechNet, Microsoft’s subscription and online service for IT professionals; was a Principal Consultant in Microsoft Consulting Services; managed development of Microsoft’s largest IT systems; and was a developer specializing in VLDBs.

Prior to Microsoft, he spent many years in the IT and systems consulting life; was the Development Manager at QuickSoft, maker of PC-Write; designed and developed educational software, database systems, games, online training, compilers, and an early word processor; and created the first electronic author-to-typesetter system.

In the years BC (before computers) he was a playwright, director, and musician in New York City and a radio deejay at various east coast stations.

He is married with children. He divides his time between Seattle and Lopez Island, Washington.
